Last week, I had my hardest week yet. Finals. The death of every high schooler and the most miserable time for every student. Lots of crying, stressing and complaining. A fun time for the teachers as they don't have to do anything. They just sit back and relax and watch the students suffer. The weekend before, my main goal was to study chemistry and math since I had those on Monday. I studied chem all of Saturday and started my math. On Sunday, Shannon came over so we could study for math together. It was a lot of help and made me feel good about the test. Monday started. The first test started at 9 and that was chemistry. Each test is two hours, so I had two hours to do 70 multiple choice questions. The first hour was fine, but the second hour killed me. I could feel my brain crumbling and melting. Time was finally up and my brain was mush. Lainey, Shannon and I went to lunch after at a place called Cup of Peace. It is amazing and you should go read about it in my food section. My second test was math. That was super easy since I had a notecard to help me out. I went home and started studying for IB world and business. My motivation was slowly decreasing.
The next day, Shannon drove me to school and we chilled in her car until the first test. The IB world test was fine since I had reviewed everything and it was repeats of past tests. Shannon, Eli and I went to Cup of Peace again. That is how good this restaurant it. My afternoon test was business. We could choose to make it a final of a regular test. I chose to make it a regular test since I didn't want to risk it. I got home to study for Spanish. The problem with Spanish is, it is hard to study for since it is applying what you already know. Motivation and hope were sinking fast. On Wednesday, I took my Spanish test and it was rough. I was good at the writing part, but listening was a lot harder. I finished the test and went out to lunch with Luna. I got to go home early since I didn't have another final that day and studied for language arts. I had to write an outline for a debate and study for a multiple choice test. Motivation was at rock bottom. The last day of finals! I was so ready to be done. I got to L.A test and we did the multiple choice first. It was all lit terms and the books and articles that we had read that semester. I thought it was pretty easy because most of the stuff you could cancel out. The debate was fine and I said what I needed to say. I don't like debates in front of a class because I feel like it is awkward. Finishing everything, I don't think I have ever been happier in my life and felt more relieved in my life. Then, my friend group and I went out for pho. We were all craving it and when I started eating, my life was complete. It was so good! We didn't know what to do after so we went to the Humane Society. It was perfect because I got to see so many cute pets. I felt bad for them since they were stuck in these little cages. I met these two dogs named Dutch and Brandy. They were the cutest and I wish I took them home with me. Animals were the perfect way to start the break. We all had a lot of fun and it was relaxing. On Friday, I had an agency meeting so I went to the office with my dad. The meeting was at 11 and it went till 12. I got signed! It is with an agency called Marbles and Lincoln Talent. They are mostly commercial and I can't wait to work with them and get booked. I went home after, hung out and watched t.v. Saturday morning, I had my first tutoring session for my SAT prep. It was super helpful and even in the first lesson, I learned so much from the tutor. After the session, my dad and I went grocery shopping for two hours. We literally had no food in the house and desperately needed food. After Joanna and I hung out until my dad and I had to go to the airport to pick up my sister! I was so excited to see her and hang out with her. I always love when she comes back because I get to spend a lot of time with her and my dad always makes good food. Overall, last week was very rough, but I made it past and had a great start to break! My grades turned out good, so finals wasn't a trainwreck. I am so ready for Christmas. No matter what, everything will always be okay. -Jamie
