School's officially out! I made it past my hardest year of high school and I cannot believe it. I thought about giving up so many times during the year, but I made it. Unfortunately, Colorado has not blessed me with nice weather. It has been raining and snowing all week. At the end of May! This should not be happening and my seasonal depression has come back. Acne is flaring up and the paleness is coming back out. I need it to be warm so I can finally enjoy summer.
During finals week, I only had two tests and they were only in the mornings. The rest of my classes I had already taken the final or had a project. On Monday, I had chemistry first thing in the morning. At 9 in the morning. Not a great way to start the day, but I am glad I got it over with. After the test, I hung out with some of my friends and we got lunch together. I got home at around 3 and chilled until I went to sleep. Surprisingly, I like finals week second semester because I don't have that many finals and I get to hang out with friends every day. On Tuesday, I didn't have any finals so I slept in and watched a horror movie. Sidenote, I realized that horror movies don't scare me anymore. I want an adrenaline rush from horror movies and actually feel something, but now I see through all of the effects and it is boring. I need new horror movie recommendations so I can actually get scared. On Wednesday, I had my Spanish final and I did pretty well on it. I hung out with Shannon afterward and we got lunch, but she had a final in the afternoon, so I dropped her off and went home. Thursday. Now that was fun. I had language arts and then my friends and I went to another friends house, Eli, to hang out. A couple of hours later, after staring blankly at a T.V. screen and trying to understand video games, we finally got food. Of course, we had to go to Chick-Fil-A because that is the best place ever. I honestly could not live without Chick-Fil-A anymore; it is an unhealthy obsession. Every time I go there, the chicken nuggets are the move. Pair it with honey mustard and that is what I call the perfect meal. We ate, then I went home. A couple of hours later, I picked up Joanna and we went back to Eli's house for a kickback. I got there around 7:30 and we played a lot of games. One of my friends had a close call with death, but he's okay. He actually laughed about it probably not even 5 minutes after it happened. It was quite the eventful night until Eli's dad kicked a lot of people out. My closest friends stayed behind. We talked for a while about random things, then had the amazing idea of going to Pearl St. Mind you, it is pouring rain outside. Fantastic. We got there and literally did nothing. Walked up and down the mall and played some tag, all while Pearl is literally flooding and I am soaked like I went through the shower with my clothes on. We ended up going back and Joanna and I headed back. I dropped her off at another friends house, got home and crashed. Hanging out with people is so much fun, but it really drains you. First summer night and it was perfect. I would not have wanted anything else to start my summer. I realize that my friends are the best people ever and I could not live without them. This summer, it is going to be a lot of fun and a lot of work. I still have a couple of tests coming up, so I have to study for those. I am also going to China for three weeks and hopefully, Los Angeles after that. I want to make this the best summer yet and I want to do as much as possible. I know most people say that and end up sitting on their couch for the summer, but this summer, I am actually going to try to make as many memories as possible. Summer is the best season. Hands down. There are so many opportunities to reinvent yourself. -Jamie
